New World record bass from Japan

Here's a video of the massive bass that was caught on july 2 in Biwa lake in Japan.

that's crazy! It looks like it'll Tie with Perry's long held world record bass. It has to be 2 ounces over the current record to be a new record. Whatever!?

I want to catch one that big :)

That is a HUGE bass. We have bass down here, but I've never seen anything quite like that.

The latest news is that he caught it in an OFF LIMITS area of the lake. I have the latest video and photos at my site. Here is what I got back from Japan yesterday.

    UPDATE FROM JAPAN!! 7/30/09

I wrote to the Japanese agency responsible for certifying the catch and here is their response.

The angler submitted a world record application to Japan Game Fish

Association. We are in the process of checking it; as soon as it is

confirmed of its validity, the application will be forwarded to the IGFA for a

world record. Because it was a very important catch, we need to take

enough time to make sure everything is correct and IGFA-legal.
